{"id":139556,"date":"2026-02-01T11:22:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T11:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/139556\/"},"modified":"2026-02-01T11:22:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T11:22:12","slug":"dangerous-extreme-cold-to-start-february-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/139556\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangerous, Extreme Cold to Start February &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The powerful, Arctic cold front we\u2019ve been awaiting all week long finally crossed through South Florida Saturday afternoon, and has unleash record-breaking, historic cold for South Florida this Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>With temperatures in Miami and Fort Lauderdale falling down to 36F, that makes today\u2019s date the coldest temperatures measured there in more than 15 years!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1_d1476a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1669960\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Even Miami has unofficially tied its record cold low of 36F this Sunday morning with the other standing record set back more than 100 years ago!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1_6b3e07.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1669963\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>With the biting breeze in place this morning, that has dropped wind chills into the 20s across South Florida and it will remain very cold throughout today with wind chills only getting up to the 40s during the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1_17c3c9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1669964\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>At least it will be a sunny day for most \u2014 except for the western half of the Florida Keys where there will be more clouds and even some showers. Highs will struggle to get into the low 50s during the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1_d64a58.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1669962\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Overnight Sunday into Monday morning, it will be extremely cold once again with temperatures falling back down to very similar levels in the mid 30s. The wind won\u2019t be as strong, though, so wind chills won\u2019t be as much of a factor.<\/p>\n<p>Both Fort Lauderdale and Key West could break their record low temperatures Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1_1ad59a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1669961\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Highs on Monday stay cold into the 50s before we warmup somewhat midweek. Tuesday morning will still be very cold with some locations falling into the upper 30s.
