January 30, 2026 Women: Florida 186, Florida St. 110 After notably falling to the Seminoles in a neutral site dual meet a year ago<\/a>, the Gators bounced back this season with a dominant sweep of the Seminoles in Ocala. The dual also featured swims from the Gators\u2019 pro group as exhibition swimmers. The Florida women won 186-110, and the Gator men overpowered Florida State 202-93.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Recap<\/p>\n The swimming events opened with a hard fought win for the Gator women in the 200 medley relay, touching just four tenths better than Florida State in 1:36.61. Catie Choate<\/a> (24.32), Anita Bottazzo<\/a> (26.48), Beatriz Bezerra<\/a> (23.52), and Lainy Kruger<\/a> (22.29) combined to lead the way for Florida\u2019s meet opening win.<\/p>\n Sophomore Michaela\u00a0Mattes comfortably controlled the 1650 free for Florida, touching nearly 20 seconds better than the field in 16:07.73.<\/p>\n Bottazzo logged the only sub-1:00 time of the meet in the 100 breast, touching in 58.32, more than two seconds faster than her teammate Anna Moore<\/a> who swam a lifetime best in 1:00.65. Bottazzo later claimed the 200 breast as well in a winning effort of 2:10.33.<\/p>\n Florida sophomore Addison Reese<\/a> powered to a three second victory in the 200 butterfly, clocking 1:56.40.<\/p>\n The diving was dominated by Florida\u2019s Camyla Monroy<\/a>; the junior finished with the top score on both 1-meter (316.50) and 3-meter (369.00) for the Gators.<\/p>\n Kruger clocked the only 100 free time under 50-seconds to earn the event win in 49.14.<\/p>\n Florida\u2019s Zuri Ferguson<\/a> dominated the 200 back, touching nearly two and a half seconds faster than the field in 1:56.18.<\/p>\n Camille DeBoer<\/a> led the tight 1-2-3 sweep for Florida in the 500 free, touching first in 4:49.31, Jojo Ramey<\/a> 2nd in 4:51.86, and Sylvia Statkevicius 3rd in 4:51.96.<\/p>\n Grace Rabb<\/a> continued Florida\u2019s strong showing with a near two-second win in the 100 fly, touching in 53.07, ahead of four Seminoles.<\/p>\n Sofia Plaza<\/a> closed out the day for the Gators individually with a win in the 400 IM following a Mattes DQ, finishing in 4:15.35.<\/p>\n The Gators bookend the day with relay wins with Bezerra (22.78), Nottazzo (22.23), Statkevicius (22.97), and Kruger (22.64) winning the 200 free relay in 1:30.62 to cap off a victorious day in Ocala.<\/p>\n Seminole freshman Ioana Stirbu led the way in the 200 free, touching a near second and a half better than the field in 1:47.19.<\/p>\n Florida State sophomore Alice Velden battled with Florida\u2019s Aspen Gersper<\/a> (53.47) and Zuri Ferguson<\/a> (53.74) for the 100 back win, touching the wall first in 53.34.<\/p>\n Sophomore Maryn McDade<\/a> took home a win for the Seminoles in the 50 free, touching just ahead of Florida\u2019s Lainey Kruger<\/a> (22.93) in 22.66.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Recap<\/p>\n The Florida quartet of Jonny Marshall<\/a> (21.50), Koen de Groot<\/a> (23.63), Scotty Buff<\/a> (20.08), and Josh Liendo<\/a> (18.17) flexed their power by leading a 1-2 finish in the 200 medley relay, clocking a winning 1:23.38.<\/p>\n Ahmed Jaouadi<\/a> continued his impressive first season for the Gators with another win in the 1650 free, touching in 14:39.75. Shortly after, Jaouadi added the 200 free to his win total, touching a second ahead of his teammate Eric Brown<\/a>, who swam a lifetime best in 1:36.06, to win in 1:35.05. Jaouadi earned his 3rd individual win of the day with a 500 free victory in 4:16.00. That 500 free was also notable as it was the debut of fellow Tunisian star<\/a> Ahmed Hafnaoui<\/a>, who competed in the 500 free as an exhibition swimmer, stopping the clock in 4:23.90, which would have finished 2nd overall.<\/p>\n Marshall came off the 200 medley relay win with momentum that he carried to the 100 back, leading a Gator 1-2-3 sweep in 46.04.<\/p>\n Liendo showed a different kind of dominance, this time in the 200 fly, winning the event by over two seconds in 1:40.12. He later completed the sweep of the fly events with his winning time of 45.28, ahead of four Seminoles who finished 2-5.<\/p>\n The Gators also led the way on the boards, with freshman Jesus Agundez Mora<\/a> winning the 1-meter event in 394.50 and junior Conor Gesing<\/a> winning the 3-meter in 407.48.<\/p>\n Alex Painter<\/a> led a 1-2-3 sweep for Florida in the 50 free, stopping the clock in 19.49.<\/p>\n Florida\u2019s Aiden Norman<\/a> controlled the 200 back, touching three seconds ahead of Marshall to secure another win for Florida in 1:40.99.<\/p>\n Aleksas Savickas<\/a> claimed the 200 breast win for the Gators in 1:56.98.<\/p>\n Florida\u2019s Gio Linscheer<\/a> notched a season-best time en route to a win in the 400 IM, less than a second better than Florida State\u2019s Mathias Christensen<\/a> (3:46.73), to win in 3:45.95.<\/p>\n Dilger (19.74), Painter (19.05), Lendo (18.55), and Buff\u00a0(19.29) put the finishing touches on a winning day for the Gator men in 1:16.63.<\/p>\n Florida State\u2019s senior Marcos Egri-Martin<\/a> was the top performer in the 100 breast, swimming his fastest time of the season in 53.40, ahead of the Florida tandem of Aleksas Savickas<\/a> (53.64) and de Groot (54.25).<\/p>\n Florida State\u2019s Logan Robinson<\/a> charged to a lifetime best in the 100 free to nab the win in 43.30, nearly half a second faster than Paul Dardis<\/a> of Florida (43.78).<\/p>\n Pro Group Results<\/p>\n Katie Ledecky<\/a> swam the 500 free, representing Gator Swim Club, where she turned in the 11th fastest time in history in 4:27.72. Ledecky now owns 10 of the 11 fastest swims in history, including the top eight performances ever in the 500 free.<\/p>\n Emma Weyant<\/a> also raced the 200 fly for Gator Swim Club, touching in 1:59.65. That time sits less than a second off of her best ever time of 1:58.87 from Florida\u2019s 2024 dual against South Carolina.<\/p>\n
