The No. 4 Nebraska rifle team defeated No. 13 Jacksonville State, 4,731-4,660, at the Nebraska Rifle Range in Lincoln on Sunday. With the win, the Huskers close out the regular season with a 17-1 record.<\/p>\n
NU placed three shooters in the top five overall, led by Grace Corbett<\/a> who grabbed second with an aggregate score of 1,179. Hannah Gallagher<\/a> placed fourth with a score of 1,171, and Camilla Johannessen<\/a> followed in fifth place with a mark of 1,158.\u00a0<\/p>\n “It was a great weekend on the range,” Head Coach Richard Clark<\/a> said. “I am very happy with the performances we saw today and the way individuals worked through the match. Everyone rose to the challenge today showcasing the talent we have from top to bottom which was a very fun and cool thing to see. \u00a0It was great to see Grace show up in a big way shooting a new PR of 598 in air! We\u2019re excited to get back to the range Tuesday and continue to build towards conference championships next weekend.”<\/p>\n In the smallbore, four Husker shooters placed in the top five. Katlyn Sullivan<\/a> took first place, shooting a score of 593, and Emma Rhode<\/a> was close behind in second with a mark of 592. Gallagher took fourth place, shooting a 583, and Corbett followed in fifth with her score of 581. Charlie Mick<\/a> (sixth, 578) and Johannessen (eighth, 573) rounded out the smallbore lineup for the Big Red.\u00a0<\/p>\n Nebraska placed three shooters in the top five for air rifle. Corbett led the match in first with her score of 598, which breaks the sophomore single-match air rifle record. Alivia Perkins<\/a> placed third with a mark of 596, and Carley Seabrooke<\/a> took fifth with her score of 594. Maddy Moyer<\/a> (sixth, 594), Gallagher (seventh, 588) and Johannessen (eighth, 585) finished out the air rifle lineup for NU.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Huskers will begin the postseason by competing in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Sunday, Feb. 8, at The X-Count in Fort Wayne, Ind.
