The Divine Savior Academy Sharks<\/a> will challenge the Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie<\/a> at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Divine Savior Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they’ve increased their point totals each of their last three games.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Divine Savior Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Downtown Doral 84-51. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.<\/p>\n

Divine Savior Academy’s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Watson<\/a> led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Watson’s third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Joost West<\/a>, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 18 points.<\/p>\n

Divine Savior Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hialeah Educational Academy came into Friday’s game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 59-47 victory over Mater Biscayne Academy on Friday. The final result isn’t all that surprising considering the Biggie’s considerable advantage in MaxPreps’ Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Wildcats are ranked 682nd).<\/p>\n

Hialeah Educational Academy’s win came from a few key players that Divine Savior Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Christian Lewis<\/a>, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 21 boards. Those 21 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Bryan Ramires<\/a> was another key player, putting up 20 points.<\/p>\n

Hialeah Educational Academy’s win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Divine Savior Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.<\/p>\n

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Divine Savior Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35.8 boards per game. However, it’s not like Hialeah Educational Academy struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 30.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we’ll see if one team can grab an edge.<\/p>\n

Divine Savior Academy couldn’t quite get it done against Hialeah Educational Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 70-61. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself?
