TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 Tampa native and award-winning artist Doechii is adding another accolade to her career.<\/p>\n
Tampa\u2019s \u201cSwamp Princess\u201d<\/a> won the Grammy Award for Best Music Video for her song “Anxiety<\/a>,” which currently has over 62 million views on YouTube and has been used in viral TikTok trends.<\/p>\n This is her second ever Grammy Award win, which comes only one year after winning her first<\/a> for Best Rap Album, \u201dAlligator Bites Never Heal.\u201d<\/p>\n While Doechii was at the Grammys, the presentation of this award didn’t happen during the televised event. It was accepted on her behalf by video producers Pablo Feldman, Jolene Mendes and Sophia Sabella.<\/p>\n “This, of course, could not be done without the 200 people who worked on it,” Mendes said<\/a>. “So, thank you all.”<\/p>\n Along with her win, Doechii’s “Anxiety” was nominated in four other categories, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.<\/p>\n Prior to her career taking off, Doechii played Ybor City bars and underground house shows, according to a Tampa Bay Times report.<\/a> She is a graduate of \u00a0Blake High School in Hillsborough County.<\/p>\n 10 Tampa Bay News previously spoke to her band teacher, Carmen Griffin, who said her talents make a difference in the lives of many people in the Tampa Bay area and across the globe.<\/p>\n “It doesn’t surprise me, you know, because she’s always been a storyteller. She’s always had that ability to, like I say, speak well and just kind of clearly get those emotions out,” Griffin said. “I think as long as she continues to do that, she’ll always be in the right spaces, and there is no one trophy that I think amounts to those hills that we climb. The more that she continues to traverse those personal mountains, I think her professional success is gonna continue to follow.”<\/p>\n
