The project was greenlit by city officials this past week.<\/p>\n<p>The Walker will comprise 55 residences in a mid-rise building, hosting 45 two-bedroom homes and 10 three-bedroom homes. Residency would be available to tenants earning between 80 to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI). By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/housing\/library\/affordable-housing-resources\/income-%20mortgage-limits.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami-Dade County\u2019s<\/a> standards, for a four-person household to qualify, it would earn $99,100 to $148,680 annually.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-37766\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-02-01-at-8.21.40-PM-scaled.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"305\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The build site is currently vacant. Image from Google Earth<\/p>\n<p>Miami\u2019s area median income is currently $87,200. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/southflorida\/news\/2026\/02\/01\/miami-affordable-condo-project-planned.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The South Florida Business Journal<\/a> notes that the units\u2019 mortgage, insurance, and HOA fees would range from $2,000 to $3,000 a month. \u00a0Amenities would include a fitness center and 70 parking spots. Krea USA is the developer. The firm purchased the Walker\u2019s 21,000-square-foot build site for $3.5 million in 2025. The site is currently vacant.<\/p>\n<p>The Walker itself is estimated to cost just over $21 million to complete. <a href=\"https:\/\/therealdeal.com\/miami\/2026\/01\/22\/krea-usa-to-build-affordable-condos-in-miamis-overtown\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Real Deal<\/a> reports that the Walker isn\u2019t the only affordable housing project taking shape in Miami\u2019s Overtown neighborhood. The publication also sheds light on The Quadplex, a three-story building with four affordable homeownership units.<\/p>\n<p>The Walker is set for 402 N.W. Eighth St. and 714 to <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/uxUhRQvbzFELAiB7A\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">734 N.W.
