TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Attorney\u2019s for Charlie Adelson will appeal to judges in Tallahassee asking them to overturn his conviction on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Adelson is serving life in prison<\/a> for his part in the murder for hire of his former brother-in-law, Florida State Law professor Dan Markel. He was convicted in November 2023. <\/p>\n Adelson\u2019s attorneys claim he was denied \u201ca fair and impartial trial,\u201d citing pre-trial publicity.<\/p>\n Prosecutors say Adelson would have been convicted anywhere in Florida. <\/p>\n Tuesday\u2019s hearing is at 10 a.m. Adelson will not be there. <\/p>\n Both Adelson\u2019s attorneys and prosecutors will get 20 minutes to present their case.<\/p>\n WCTV plans to livestream those arguments on our social media and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n Adelson\u2019s mother, Donna, also has an appeal pending before the court.
