And the holiday is likely to see a big boost in spending this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Retail Federation (<a href=\"https:\/\/nrffoundation.org\/rise-up?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=22801454359&amp;gbraid=0AAAAADiGjMKKlINMf7B-C0stFNwZ_Vl5H&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiAs4HMBhBJEiwACrfNZW_t3pLQxKy2iU3ltza6RoTyPyCrtjbbgTMmReqP_5GgMoVFEfqEMBoCmfMQAvD_BwE\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">NRF<\/a>) is projecting that American shoppers will spend more than ever on gifts for the Feb. 14 celebration. The NRF is projecting that a record $29.1 billion will be spent in the U.S. for Valentine\u2019s Day, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/nrf.com\/media-center\/press-releases\/valentine-s-day-spending-expected-to-reach-new-records\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">survey<\/a> conducted by the business promotion organization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That figure would be up from last year\u2019s record of $27.5 billion spent on Valentine\u2019s Day gifts. Individually, each consumer would spend $199.78 for the holiday. The record for that metric was set in 2020, when the per-person average for Valentine\u2019s gifts was $196.31.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While those figures account for national Valentine\u2019s Day spending, the Florida Retail Federation (<a href=\"https:\/\/frf.org\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">FRF<\/a>) is steering shoppers to local businesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLove is in the air this season, and Florida shoppers are looking to spoil their sweethearts,\u201d said Scott Shalley, FRF President and CEO. \u201cSpread some love at Florida businesses by shopping local this Valentine\u2019s Day. From candy to carats, Florida retailers have a wide range of items to show your loved ones, friends, neighbors and pets how much you care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridaconserve.org\/focus-areas\/peace-river-valley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-704516 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/FCG_Digitak-Ads_Rebrand728-X-90-copy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NRF survey showed that some 55% of American consumers plan to celebrate Valentine\u2019s Day this year. Out of those, about 83% will purchase some sort of Valentine\u2019s gift for their partners.
