But it’s not clear how much difference that would make in the overall scheme of how Amazon combines air and ground shipping for delivery times.

How big will Amazon Air facility be in Jacksonville?

Amazon will use an existing 50,128 square foot hangar on about 4.7 acres at 142000 Pecan Park Road.

Amazon Air’s busiest airport in Florida will still be in Lakeland where Amazon’s presence helped make Lakeland Linder the state’s third-ranked for cargo weight in 2024 behind the Miami and Orlando airports.

Jacksonville International Airport ranked seventh for cargo that year. Amazon Air’s arrival would boost cargo volumes in Jacksonville when it planes start landing.

Editor’s note: This story was first published by our news partners, The Florida Times-Union.

Amazon Air will begin operations at Jacksonville International Airport in late 2026.
