The Jacksonville Bahama Breeze restaurant in Town Center will close April 5, according to a Feb. 3 news release.<\/p>\n
Orlando-based Darden Restaurants Inc., which operates Bahama Breeze and other chain concepts, announced it is discontinuing the brand.<\/p>\n
Darden said the Jacksonville location, which opened in 2000, is closing along with 13 others. Another 14 will be repurposed into other Darden brands.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Jacksonville restaurant is at 10205 River Coast Drive near St. Johns Town Center.<\/p>\n
In May 2025, the company closed 15 Bahama Breeze restaurants.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cPreviously, the company announced that the Bahama Breeze brand, and its 28 locations, were no longer a strategic priority and that it would consider strategic alternatives, including a potential sale of the brand or converting restaurants to other Darden brands,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>\n
Darden\u2019s portfolio includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth\u2019s Chris Steak House, Cheddar\u2019s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Chuy\u2019s, Seasons 52 and Eddie V\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Other Florida Bahama Breeze locations set to close are in Miami, Kissimmee, Pembroke Pines and Sanford.<\/p>\n
The majority of those being repurposed are Florida locations, as well as restaurants Kennesaw, Georgia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia.<\/p>\n
The company did not announce which Darden brands would replace the 14 Bahama Breeze locations that are being repurposed.<\/p>\n
\u201cGoing forward, the primary focus will continue to be on supporting team members, including placing as many as possible in roles within the Darden portfolio,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>\n
According to the Duval County Property Appraiser, the 1.73-acre Bahama Breeze property is at 10205 Town Center Parkway.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That address is different than what is used on the restaurant website.<\/p>\n
It is owned by Four Corners Property Trust Inc. in Mill Valley, California, a real estate investment trust, through FCPT Sunshine Properties LLC.<\/p>\n
