A man in his 30s was found shot on Catoma Street south of Timuquana Road Tuesday afternoon, police said, and a person of interest was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man found shot on the side of a road Tuesday afternoon died.<\/p>\n
In a news briefing Tuesday night, the sheriff’s office said officers responded to the 6200 block of Catoma Street, north of Ringhaver Park, just before 4:30 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about gunfire.<\/p>\n
A man in his 30s was reportedly found on the side of the roadway suffering from at least one gunshot wound.<\/p>\n
An official from the homicide unit said a person of interest and multiple witnesses were detained for questioning. An arrest was not immediately announced.<\/p>\n
The sheriff’s office believes there is no remaining danger to the public.<\/p>\n
