The voice of Florida\u2019s hospitality industry wants to see U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds in the Governor\u2019s mansion.<\/p>\n

The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA<\/a>) is endorsing the Naples Republican\u2019s gubernatorial campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cHospitality and tourism fuel Florida\u2019s economy, and strong leadership is critical to protecting the jobs and businesses that drive it,\u201d said Carol Dover, President and CEO of FRLA.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom his time in the Florida Legislature to his service in Congress, Byron Donalds has proven time and again that he understands the unique challenges facing our industry and is willing to take decisive action to remove unnecessary regulations, support workforce growth, and keep Florida a top tourist destination. We are confident he will be a decisive leader and strong partner who will advance policies that keep our industry and Florida\u2019s economy strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donalds served two terms in the Florida House before his 2020 election<\/a> to Congress.<\/p>\n

The Naples Republican welcomed the support from the lobbying group.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlorida\u2019s hospitality and tourism industry is the backbone of our state\u2019s economy, and I\u2019m honored to have the support of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association,\u201d Donalds said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Governor, I will continue fighting for policies that keep Florida open for business, cut unnecessary red tape, grow our workforce and ensure restaurants, hotels and tourism employers can thrive. Together, we will protect the jobs this industry creates and keep Florida the best place in the nation to live, work, and visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FRLA has advocated Florida\u2019s service and hospitality industry for 80 years<\/a>, working for the interests of one of the state\u2019s key industries. In the Sunshine State, the $112 billion hospitality provides jobs for some 2 million employees, according to the organization.<\/p>\n

In addition to advocacy in Tallahassee, the FRLA also offers regulatory compliance and food safety training. It also has an education-focused foundation providing industry-developed career programs.<\/p>\n
