ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Orlando\u2019s 101-year-old Dubsdread Golf Course is getting a 21st century makeover.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Dubsdread celebrated the grand opening of its new high-tech driving range and learning center.<\/p>\n
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, City Commissioner Robert Stuart and others were on-hand for the celebratory \u201cfirst swing\u201d and ribbon cutting.<\/p>\n
The new range features 40 covered bays. Thirty-six of them are equipped with state-of-the-art Trackman technology, which allows golfers to play other courses, tournaments and more \u2014 all virtually. <\/p>\n
Each golfer\u2019s swing is tracked by Doppler radar, recording their speed, distance and more.<\/p>\n

We first took a tour of the upgrades in September. <\/p>\n
Construction on the nearly $4 million make-over started in April. It also features a new indoor air-conditioned learning center where Trackman technology will break down a golfer\u2019s swing into 44 separate variables. Officials hope the new range will draw in golfers of all ages and skills. It also features a 19th hole snack shack.<\/p>\n
\u201c(Golfers) can expect top-notch service. We\u2019ve got an amazing staff of food and beverage employees, that has grown greatly over the last couple of months, and they can expect what I perceive as a very well-priced product and experience,\u201d Dubsdread General Manager Rodney Reifsnider said. \u201cAnd we want all the feedback. If there\u2019s something going on that they don\u2019t like, we want to know it.\u201d<\/p>\n
City leaders say they hope families will come out to visit in the same way they would go to places like Top Golf.<\/p>\n
