ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department said one person was hurt, and another person has been arrested after a shooting happened Wednesday afternoon outside the Orange County jail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said it was investigating a “domestic-related” shooting in the area of S. John Parkway and Vision Blvd., not far from the jail. A random person was struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital. That person is expected to be OK, police said.<\/p>\n
One person has been arrested, police said.<\/p>\n
The shooting prompted a large police presence near the jail for several hours. FOX 35 cameras captured a white vehicle within the crime tape that had significant damaged, including a shattered windshield.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0Police have not released the suspect’s name nor details on the circumstances of the shooting. Police have also not released details on the person who was shot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
About the Orange County Jail <\/p>\n
The Orange County Jail complex is located off Vision Blvd., near Interstate 4 and S. John Young Parkway. It is the fourth-largest jail in Florida, according to Orange County.<\/p>\n
According to the county, more than 41,000 people were booked into the jail in 2025. The average daily population was 3,064 people in 2025, the county said.<\/p>\n
