ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 When over 160 football players since 2016 sign scholarships to play college football, you know something right is happening. At Jones High School, another dozen players committed during National Signing Day on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
So, what\u2019s the secret?<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, I think it\u2019s every day coming in to work,\u201d Ryan Duval said, who signed to Seton Hill. \u201cNot having an ego; just trying to be great every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
David Lee, a Daytona Beach Christian University commit, recalled a constant message from his coaches: \u201cNo shortcuts.\u201d<\/p>\n
Players committed Wednesday morning to colleges like Bethune-Cookman, Seton Hill, Florida Memorial University and St. Thomas University. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a legacy child,\u201d Stephen Williams said, a Bethune-Cookman commit. \u201cJones has got a big legacy in Orlando. It feels good to be a part of that legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
The players signing today builds upon the early signees from December, which saw players leave early for schools like the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators. <\/p>\n
Coach Elijah Williams told News 6 it\u2019s awesome to see his players sign each period. He tells them to do their business on and off the field and leave the door open for the chance to play in college. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always good to have a \u2018Plan B,\u2019\u201d Duval said. \u201cNot everyone makes it all the way. You\u2019ve got to always have something to fall back on.\u201d<\/p>\n
