This Black History Month and all year long, support the local Black community by checking out Black-owned businesses and creative voices shaping culture across Tampa Bay. These are some highlights of great artists, organizations, restaurants and more that are being led by Black voices in St. Pete.<\/p>\n

Food and Drink<\/p>\n

Sid\u2019s Caribbean Grill, A longtime staple in the Tampa Bay food scene, Sid\u2019s Caribbean Grill is known for bold Jamaican flavors and consistently serving the community with authenticity. From jerk chicken to oxtails and curries, Sid\u2019s represents comfort food rooted in Caribbean tradition and has become a go-to spot for locals looking for real island cooking.<\/p>\n

Roam Steakhouse<\/a> offers an elevated dining experience with a modern approach to classic steakhouse fare. The space blends high-quality cuts, thoughtful presentation, and hospitality that reflects pride in service. It is a destination for special occasions and a strong example of Black excellence in fine dining.<\/p>\n

Copa<\/a> brings together Caribbean and Afro-Latin-inspired flavors with craft cocktails in a spirited atmosphere. Known for its menu that encourages sharing, Copa has become a popular gathering spot that blends culture, nightlife, and cuisine into one experience.<\/p>\n

Hogg Batch Coffee<\/a>, owned and operated by twin brothers, has built a loyal following through quality coffee and intentional community building. The brand is known for small-batch roasting, creative drinks, and pop-ups. It is as much about people as it is about coffee.<\/p>\n

Urban Drinkery<\/a> is a Black woman-owned business by Shundra Allison that offers a relaxed but curated drink experience. The space serves craft cocktails and hosts events that feel welcoming and inclusive. It stands out as a place where ownership, atmosphere, and intention align.<\/p>\n

Black Leaf<\/a> is a cigar and wine lounge that continues to grow its presence through flavorful offerings and a strong cultural identity. They offer wine tasting opportunities and sometimes host music events.<\/p>\n

Music<\/p>\n

DAMES<\/a> is a St. Pete musician and community activist whose soul-infused sound evokes a 70s vibe with a modern twist, and whose presence around town spans venues and community events.<\/p>\n

Pilot Jonezz<\/a> is a punk rock band from the Tampa Bay area that\u2019s been turning heads with its energetic live shows and alternative edge.<\/p>\n

Zanzibean<\/a> is a Caribbean-style artist and DJ bringing island rhythm and high energy to dance floors across St. Pete and Tampa.<\/p>\n

Fesssi K<\/a> is the founder of We\u2019re Sweet Girls<\/a>, a platform amplifying women in the music scene. She creates indie and alternative tracks while DJing and releasing music you can find on Bandcamp and local music showcases.<\/p>\n

Sector.FM<\/a> is an independent radio station and community music hub founded by Vonne Parks and Andre \u201cDre\u201d Gainey of They Hate Change. Sector.FM supports artists from many diasporas including Black creatives like Deja Denice Johnny Champagne and Raheem Fitzgerald while broadcasting diverse sounds and local talent.<\/p>\n

Art and Wellness<\/p>\n

Uniquely Original Art Studio<\/a> celebrates Afrocentric art and community creativity in St. Petersburg. Owned by Catherine Weaver, the studio hosts workshops drum circles and events rooted in heritage and self-expression while preserving a legacy of Black entrepreneurship in the city. <\/p>\n

Brown Care Collective<\/a> focuses on nurturing BIPOC wellness with culturally rooted mental health support and community-centered care at its core. They offer yoga classes and wellness workshops.<\/p>\n

Green Book of Tampa Bay<\/a> highlights Black artists, storytellers, and visionaries throughout the region with exhibitions, events, and a legacy directory that brings attention to Black entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Dr Carter G Woodson African American Museum of Florida<\/a> is not just a historical space, but it also preserves and shares African American history through exhibits, programs, and events that anchor community heritage in South St. Pete.<\/p>\n

Myiah Pink<\/a> is an artist and the founder of \u2018Happy Soul\u2019 and the Soul Revival Art Festival, a platform that uplifts awareness and fundraising for sickle cell research and related causes while blending creative expression.<\/p>\n
