The owner\u2019s story is part of the legacy\u00a0<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, the resort\u2019s legacy speaks for itself. But this milestone year is made even more meaningful by the origin story of its owner.<\/p>\n

William Touloumis, owner of the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, recently celebrated his 90th birthday. Born in Greece, Touloumis immigrated to the United States in 1952 at just 16 years old. He left behind his mother and three younger brothers in pursuit of opportunity and the American dream. Through discipline and powerful entrepreneurial spirit, he went on to build a career as one of the most successful commercial developers in Pinellas County.<\/p>\n

Touloumis served as a former chief architect for the Walgreens drugstore chain. He later founded Olympia Development Group Inc. He designed and developed more than 100 Walgreens locations, along with numerous office buildings and restaurants across Florida and Georgia. As owner of the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, he has continued the legacy of a property that balances preservation with thoughtful modernization.<\/p>\n
