Jacksonville is now 3-0 playing a team for the second time in ASUN play.

The Dolphins (15-7, 7-4 ASUN) were led by freshman Tatum Brown’s second-career double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. She also tied a season-high with six steals.

Jacksonville was all over the Wolves from the opening whistle. West Georgia took its only lead of the game, 4-2, then JU ripped off 10-straight points to seize control of the game the rest of the night.

The Dolphins held UWG to just six points in the opening quarter. With under a minute to play, freshman guard Aniah Smith drove hard to the paint, drawing a foul and trickling in the layup. Her effort put JU up 12 at the first quarter break.

The second quarter was more of the same. As the Wolves settled into a relative groove offensively, Jacksonville matched with a hot offense of its own. Fourteen of the Dolphins 24 points came from the freshmen class, with Kimora Hester adding a spark with a conference play season-high five points.

Jacksonville kept on the front foot after the half, with junior Carmaya Bowman drilling a pair of assisted mid-range jumpers. The third quarter was the closest of the night, though the Dolphins still won the quarter 22-21, taking an 18-point lead into the final stanza.

Graduate student guard Priscilla Williams heated up in the fourth quarter. She scored seven of her 16 points in the fourth, and grabbed six of her nine rebounds in the final period of play.

Game Notes

With the win tonight, the Dolphins surpassed last season’s win total.
Jacksonville had four players in double figures (Brown, Williams, Smith and Bowman).
The Dolphins recorded 13 steals, their fourth-straight game with double-digit steals.
Jacksonville won the rebounding battle 41-33, including a 14-8 edge on the offensive glass.

Head Coach Special Jennings
On rematch with West Georgia
“West Georgia is a great team, they’re very well coached. They can kill you in a plethora of ways: inside, outside. The first go around, we had a lot going on, man. I had a death in the family, and the girls were just emotional. So I thought today we actually played like ourselves. We made shots, we got the ball into the painted area and we got to the free throw line. We played as a united.”

On offensive success

“It’s never going to be our offense. We can score with the best, we have no problem in that area. At any point, any person I put in the game can go get a bucket. I’m just focused on right now on our defense.”

On defensive intensity

“We just gotta continue that level of play from tonight. We’re aggressive, we fly around. I do think, as I told my players at one of the timeouts, if they’re calling it tight, we gotta adjust. We gotta figure that part out, but like I said before, we just need to be playing our best basketball at the end of February and I like where we’re at.”

Up Next

The Dolphins will head back on the road to face the FGCU Eagles Saturday. Tip-off is slated from 2 PM from FGCU’s Alico Arena. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Next Game: at Florida Gulf Coast University 2/7/2026 | 2:00 PM ESPN+ …

[8
116,118,117
0":"post-145630","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-jacksonville","8":"tag-jacksonville","9":"tag-jacksonville-headlines","10":"tag-jacksonville-news
["GET
