JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Officials with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue on Thursday night said that a man was found dead after a mobile home caught on fire near the Sunbeam neighborhood. <\/p>\n
JFRD said the person was found dead inside a bedroom where the fire is believed to have originated, and, per protocol, the matter will be investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office as a homicide. <\/p>\n
According to the agency, the fire took place on Neal Drive, and crews arrived at the scene after receiving calls about the incident around 9 p.m. <\/p>\n
Upon arrival, crews conducted their search, which led them to find the man in a bedroom. After taking the man out of the home, the man was declared dead around 9:24 p.m.<\/p>\n
The agency added that no one else was found in the residence.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire is under investigation. <\/p>\n
The incident marks the third structure that caught fire on Thursday, and the second fatality due to a fire in 2026, the agency said. <\/p>\n
