PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 Two manatees are recovering from cold stress after being rescued in St. Petersburg last week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Rescue teams pulled the animals from the water following a period of frigid temperatures in Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The rescued manatees include a 290-pound female and a 310-pound male. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Cold stress is a significant health concern for manatees during the winter months, specifically when water temperatures drop below 68 degrees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Wildlife agents reported that both manatees are responding well to their current treatment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
