TALLAHASSEE \u2013 Florida State soccer senior forward\/defender Kameron Simmonds<\/a> has signed with the Utah Royals of the National Women’s Soccer League, the club announced on Thursday.

\nIn two seasons at FSU, Simmonds helped the Seminoles win a national title in 2025 and an ACC Tournament crown in 2024.
\n\u00a0
\nSimmonds is one of several Florida State players to sign professionally this offseason after the team won their fifth NCAA championship in early December. She is joined in the NWSL by senior defender Heather Gilchrist<\/a> (Bay FC<\/a>), junior defender Jordynn Dudley<\/a> (Gotham FC<\/a>), junior midfielder Yuna McCormack<\/a> (Denver Summit<\/a>), junior defender Mimi Van Zanten<\/a> (San Diego Wave<\/a>), sophomore midfielder\/forward Taylor Suarez<\/a> (Angel City FC<\/a>), sophomore forward Solai Washington<\/a> (Orlando Pride<\/a>) and freshman goalkeeper Evan O’Steen<\/a> (Seattle Reign<\/a>), while fifth-year midfielder Marianyela Jim\u00e9nez (Quer\u00e9taro FC<\/a>) and senior forward Giana Riley<\/a> (Club Am\u00e9rica<\/a>) signed in Liga MX Femenil.

\n“Kam is a great addition to the Utah Royals,” FSU head coach Brian Pensky<\/a> said. “Her versatility will provide the same value that it did here in our program. And just as she did at FSU, Kam will continue to get better and better over time. Kam’s future also remains bright on the international stage with Jamaica.”

\nA Seminole from 2024-25 after beginning her career at Tennessee in 2022-23, Simmonds hails from Midlothian, Virginia. She played in 76 career games with 54 starts and scored 18 goals with six assists for 42 points. Playing almost 4,200 career minutes, Simmonds notched 109 shots, 54 on goal, with four game-winning goals. In two years at FSU, she appeared in 42 games with 36 starts and totaled more than 2,500 minutes. Simmonds scored six goals, one of them a game-winner, with three assists for 15 points with 45 shots, 19 on goal, as a Seminole.

\nAs a senior in 2025, Simmonds played in 21 games with 17 starts and played 1,016 minutes. She scored one goal and had one assist for three points with six shots, three on target.

\nIn 2023, Simmonds was recognized as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week once and was tabbed to the SEC Preseason Watch List.

\nWith the Jamaican National Team, Simmonds played in the 2023 World Cup and helped the Reggae Girlz advance to the Round of 16 during the team’s historic run.
