Constructed in the mid-1980s, the multi-family development currently hosts 221 homes; yet, pending approval from the city\u2019s Planning &amp; Zoning Board, the venture would see 72 new two-bedroom residences.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/southflorida\/news\/2026\/02\/04\/developer-could-fill-lake-to-build-apartments.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the South Florida Business Journal<\/a>, developer Sunpointe Cove LLC (an affiliate of New York-based Nuveen) wants to fill the community\u2019s pond with two three-story buildings. Residents at the expanded Cameron Cove would have access to more than 3,000 square feet of amenities, including a resort-style swimming pool and 2,763-square-foot clubhouse. Nuveen purchased Cameron Cove for $12.75 million in 2002.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-37816\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-02-04-at-10.53.01-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"534\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 2,763-square-foot clubhouse. The Miami-based firm also designed <a href=\"https:\/\/floridayimby.com\/2025\/11\/renderings-and-diagrams-revealed-for-the-residences-at-bayview-at-1040-bayview-drive-in-fort-lauderdale.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Residences at Bayview<\/a>, a venture Florida YIMBY covered in late 2025. Current plans call for an eight-story building measuring 81 feet tall; it would feature 259 residences, a few of which would be designated as affordable housing rentals.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron Cove\u2019s expansion is following a larger trend of in-fill projects in Broward County. Bullish development has left few vacant parcels in the region, causing developers to seek creative solutions to build new projects.
