Music icon and multi-Grammy winner Darius Rucker will take center stage at the Broward Performing Arts Foundation\u2019s Only Wanna Be With You 2026 Annual Celebration<\/a> on Saturday, March 7 at 8:30 p.m. It will be a rare opportunity for fans to see Rucker in an unforgettable, up-close-and-personal performance in the Broward Center\u2019s Au-Rene Theater.\u00a0 VIP tickets, which include lower orchestra seating at the performance and an invitation to the post-show tailgate party are still available for purchase at $1,250.<\/p>\n

Rucker first gained fame in the 1990s as lead vocalist and guitarist for Hootie & the Blowfish, whose debut album, Cracked Rear View, sold more than 25 million copies and ranks among the top 10 best-selling studio albums ever. With sing-along classics \u201cOnly Wanna Be With You,\u201d \u201cLet Her Cry\u201d and \u201cHold My Hand,\u201d the band became a defining sound of a generation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since releasing his first country album in 2008, Rucker has earned a legion of new fans with four number one albums on the Billboard Country chart in addition to 10 number one singles on country radio and 11 Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum certified hits, among other prestigious awards. A Grand Ole Opry member since 2012, Rucker received his third career Grammy Award in 2014 for Best Solo Country Performance with his Diamond-certified version of \u201cWagon Wheel,\u201d which is one of the top five best-selling country songs of all time. His New York Times bestselling memoir, Life\u2019s Too Short, was released in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rucker\u2019s ties to South Florida are long-standing and legendary. He is a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan who has frequently performed the national anthem at games. In a nod to his fandom and favorite team, attire for the Annual Celebration is \u201cCarolina Coastal,\u201d with Dolphins gear optional.<\/p>\n

The Annual Celebration is presented by Ann M. Burris and is a fundraiser for the Broward Center\u2019s education and enrichment programs. For more than 40 years, the Broward Performing Arts Foundation has been instrumental in providing support for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
