Florida doesn\u2019t traditionally grab<\/a> a ton of talent out of the Miami area. The ever-looming presence of the Hurricanes, combined with everyone in America also trying to make their mark, has made the area a bit of a challenge at times for the Gators.<\/p>\n

But Jon Sumrall isn\u2019t deterred and is trying to lure a four-star cornerback from Fort Lauderdale to Gainesville.<\/p>\n

Florida makes the top six for Bryce Williams<\/p>\n

Bryce Williams is a cornerback from Fort Lauderdale. Listed at 6\u20192\u201d and 175 pounds, Williams is listed as a four-star by Rivals and 247 and as a three-star by ESPN (though he\u2019s in their top 300).<\/p>\n

On film<\/a>, Williams tends to play off coverage, but that doesn\u2019t mean he is afraid of contact. Williams always seems to have a good read of what is happening around him and understands when to drive down, when to sit, and when to peel off to someone else. He also switches between corner and safety at times, but when he does have a chance to make contact, he delivers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When in press coverage, he uses his frame to his advantage, and when on special teams, he isn\u2019t afraid to ragdoll someone. His star ranking is probably fair for now, and we\u2019ll see how the camp circuit impacts his ranking this offseason.<\/p>\n

Williams was committed to FSU but realized Mike Norvell is a dumpster fire and backed off that commitment in December. He has now narrowed down his top six and has Florida included with Clemson, Georgia, Nebraska, Texas, and Syracuse. Miami did offer Williams last March, but hasn\u2019t had much momentum with him in public.<\/p>\n

Williams did take an unofficial trip to Gainesville in January, and one would have to assume an official visit is on the horizon.
