{"id":147254,"date":"2026-02-07T15:09:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T15:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/147254\/"},"modified":"2026-02-07T15:09:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T15:09:11","slug":"florida-completes-biggest-sweep-of-illegal-vapes-in-state-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/147254\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida completes biggest sweep of illegal vapes in state history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents of the Sunshine State can breathe a little easier as state officials announce that the Florida Vape Task Force has gotten more vapes off the street than in any other previous operation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis record-breaking seizure sends a clear message: if you profit off addiction, deception, and dangerous substances, we will find you and shut you down,\u201d said Attorney General\u00a0James Uthmeier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2,183 \u201ccontraband\u201d vapes in total were seized from four counties, along with nitrous oxide canisters, including 263 illegal vapes in Clermont, 636 in Ocoee, 855 in Okaloosa County, and 423 in Milton.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson\u00a0says the law is clear and that his agency is \u201ccommitted to enforcing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese illegal products threaten public health, undermine legitimate businesses, and too often are designed to target children. We will continue working with our fellow law enforcement partners to remove these dangerous and unlawful products from store shelves and protect Florida families,\u201d said the Trilby Republican and former Senate President.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.florida.gop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-764247 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Ads-RPOF-Newsletter_728x90.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simpson\u2019s agency removed thousands of illicit products from various stores, including 2,054 packages in Clermont and 6,181 in Ocoee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Per a press release from Uthmeier\u2019s office, the violations of law ran the gamut, \u201cincluding failure to meet container and labeling requirements, lack of child-resistant packaging, unlawful advertising and marketing practices, and packaging, business names, logos, colors, or additives designed to appeal to children. Additional violations included references to illegal or unlawful substances, promotion of marijuana use, and the presence of controlled or prohibited substances such as 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), tianeptine, and hemp extract containing more than 0.3 percent total delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol on a wet-weight basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese joint task force operations demonstrate Florida\u2019s unwavering commitment to protecting our communities\u2014especially our children\u2014from illegal and dangerous products,\u201d\u00a0said Department of Business and Professional Regulation Secretary Melanie S. Griffin.\u00a0\u201cWorking alongside the Office of the Attorney General, FDLE, FDACS, and our local law enforcement partners, DBPR is taking decisive action to hold bad actors accountable and to remove unlawful vapes, nitrous oxide products, and other prohibited substances from the marketplace.
