ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 These colder temperatures are living on borrowed time. We\u2019re rapidly approaching a period called, the \u201cfalse spring\u201d. <\/p>\n
While it may be false for other portions of the country, Central Florida may get a little more than just a small taste test of what the upcoming spring season could look like. <\/p>\n

For the time being, winds will remain somewhat elevated as higher pressure swoops in over the state. Clouds will be scarce, and we\u2019re not tracking anything in the realm of moisture let alone rainfall. <\/p>\n
This is both good for your outdoor weekend plans, and bad in terms of the looming drought we first began discussing back towards the Thanksgiving time frame last year. <\/p>\n
Fire weather is becoming a growing concern, and I do suspect red flag warnings will start to be a more routine occurrence. <\/p>\n

Rip currents will also be a threat for the time being. While it may still be a touch too cold for some to venture to the shoreline, be careful to those brave enough to do so. <\/p>\n

Valentines Day promises to be quality. There are subtle hints of a storm system on approach that may try to hurl some extra moisture at us, but confidence is low we\u2019ll see any substantial or even noticeable rain in Central Florida on Saturday. <\/p>\n

NASCAR fans, I\u2019m watching the pattern ahead carefully. This is where we could see some possible issues for your weekend plans out at the raceway. <\/p>\n
The forecast is somewhat hazy this far out. I would advise not to change your plans or rearrange your itinerary, but have talks of a few back up plans for wet weather.<\/p>\n
While the American model, the GFS, says the green flag will drop on time, other computer models to include even our AI forecast models suggest a cold front will be rocking through with some rain along the leading edge. <\/p>\n
