They walked away with a 69-62 victory over the St. Petersburg Green Devils<\/a>. The win almost wasn’t to be: the Eagles were down 58-44 in the third quarter.<\/p>\n East Lake’s victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Bryant<\/a>, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 16 boards. Bryant has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he’s played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Cooper<\/a>, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.<\/p>\n East Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are a perfect 22-0 when they’ve passed the ball that well.<\/p>\n As for St. Petersburg, they moved to 16-9 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. They were up 58-44 in the third quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead.<\/p>\n Despite the loss, St. Petersburg saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nijaun Harris<\/a> dropped a double-double with 36 points and 18 boards. As a matter of fact, that’s the most points Harris has scored all season. Zak Mellouki<\/a> was another key player, putting up eight points.<\/p>\n East Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-49 win against Steinbrenner on the 5th. As for St. Petersburg, they also didn’t take long to hit the court again: they’ve already played their next contest, a 67-53 victory against Northeast on the 5th.<\/p>\n
