\u201cAfter careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to pause the GayDays Orlando event scheduled for June 2026,\u201d organizers shared. They cited \u201cchanges to our host hostel agreement, the loss of key sponsorship support and broader challenges currently impacting LGBTQIA+ events nationwide,\u201d advising it would be \u201cimpossible to deliver the experience our community deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n
They also called the \u201cdifficult decision\u201d a \u201cpause \u2014 not an ending.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cFor more than 30 years, GayDays has been built by and for our community,\u201d they continued. \u201cOur focus now is on reimagining the future and returning with a stronger, more sustainable event.\u201d<\/p>\n
Organizers initially billed this year\u2019s celebration as GayDays\u2019 \u201cbiggest and best yet, with unforgettable events, dazzling performances and non-stop fun all under one roof at our host hotel.\u201d It would have followed last year\u2019s muted celebration.<\/a><\/p>\n Some scheduled entertainers began receiving notice about this year\u2019s pause Feb. 7. In addition to a social media statement, GayDays also shared the news via its website.<\/p>\n \u201cGayDays Family \u2014 it is with very heavy hearts that we share GayDays 2026 will not take place this year,\u201d a notice reads. \u201cThis was an incredibly difficult decision and one that was only made after every possible option was explored.<\/p>\n \u201cGayDays has always been more than an event \u2014 it is community, family, and a place where so many memories are made,\u201d it continues. \u201cWhile this pause is painful, it also gives us the opportunity to step back, listen, and begin shaping a stronger and reimagined GayDays for the future. Thank you for your continued love, patience, and support. One Magical Weekend<\/a>, currently scheduled for June 4-8, confirmed it would return after GayDays\u2019 announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re heartbroken to see another beloved event take a pause.
