High pressure will remain in control early this week which means we will see sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Highs each day will be in the 70s with overnight lows, for the most part in the 40s and 50s.<\/p>\n
A system could bring a few showers later in the upcoming week, but not enough to put a dent in the drought.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects the overall pattern over the past few months. The area of \u201cextreme\u201d drought continues to expand in coverage each week and now covers a larger portion of our area. Most of our area remains under a \u201csevere\u201d drought. <\/p>\n

The rainfall forecast over the extended period does not look promising. The area of high pressure will keep our region dry for most if not all of the upcoming week. That means the deficits will continue to increase when considering the deficits from last year. Several spots are around if not above 15\u201d in deficit. <\/p>\n
