That sense of participation has become a hallmark of Holcomb\u2019s nearly two-decade career. Fans regularly sing along, shout out song requests and even dance \u2014 transforming venues into what the couple describes as a \u201cliving room kind of vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Holcomb\u2019s reach expanded significantly with the Americana chart-topping anthem \u201cFind Your People,\u201d a song that took on a life of its own after its release. Originally written as a piano ballad, the track evolved into a unifying anthem that found viral traction across graduation videos, social media communities and eventually a Super Bowl commercial.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought it would connect with people, but nothing like what it has done,\u201d Holcomb said. \u201cI think it speaks to the idea that everybody\u2019s either really grateful for the people they have, or really hungry to have people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ellie Holcomb has forged her own celebrated path alongside her husband\u2019s career. A Dove Award-winning artist and bestselling author, she credits encouragement from Drew for helping her find confidence in her solo voice \u2014 a journey that has strengthened their creative partnership.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt almost feels like three artists now,\u201d Ellie Holcomb said. \u201cIt\u2019s me, it\u2019s Drew, and then it\u2019s the music we make together. There\u2019s a deep respect running through it, and that gives so much variety to the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
The couple, who will celebrate 20 years of marriage this year, acknowledged that writing and touring together hasn\u2019t always been easy \u2014 but time, humor and mutual respect have reshaped their collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt took about 20 years for our egos to die,\u201d Drew Holcomb joked. \u201cNow, if there\u2019s ever friction and we\u2019re about to go onstage, we stop and say, \u2018I\u2019m on your team.\u2019 And then you sing love songs \u2014 that helps.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Jacksonville stop will feature two distinct sets. The first is an acoustic performance with just the two of them swapping songs and stories, followed by a full-band set highlighting music from both of their solo catalogs and their duo work.<\/p>\n
Beyond the music, the tour is tied to a larger purpose. Drew and Ellie Holcomb are donating $1 from every ticket sold to International Justice Mission, an anti-slavery nonprofit working to rescue children trapped in modern-day slavery and protect people living in poverty from violence.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important for us to be part of a story bigger than ourselves,\u201d Drew Holcomb said. \u201cWhen fans buy a ticket, they\u2019re actually fighting modern-day slavery. That feels like a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n
As they prepare to head south, the couple said they\u2019re looking forward to connecting with Northeast Florida fans \u2014 and maybe escaping colder weather.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see you,\u201d Ellie Holcomb said. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be coming to your town.\u201d<\/p>\n
