Holmes Beach police arrested Emily Morrow, 34, of Tampa, Jan. 27 on several criminal charges, headlined by four third-degree felonies for possession of controlled substances \u2014 including cocaine and methamphetamine \u2014 without prescriptions.<\/p>\n
Morrow also was charged with:<\/p>\n
Another third-degree felony for a third or subsequent offense of driving with a suspended license;
\nA first-degree misdemeanor for possession or use of drug equipment;
\nFour second-degree misdemeanors for possession of legend drugs without prescriptions.<\/p>\n
Morrow was stopped by an officer for driving with an obscured license plate. She had a suspended license and there was a Sarasota County arrest warrant out for her passenger.<\/p>\n
During a search, police reported finding a prescription mouth wash that Morrow did not have a prescription for, a case containing a scale and small plastic baggies, a capsule containing 12 morphine sulfate pills, six loose pills identified as metformin hydrochloride and quetiapine fumarate, a smoking pipe with white residue that tested positive for meth and five Virginia license plates that did not belong to the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Morrow, according to the report, had two baggies containing white powder substances that tested positive for cocaine and meth, as well as a few pills identified as Alprazolam, a Schedule 2 narcotic.<\/p>\n
The officers arrested Morrow and transported her to the Manatee County jail, where she was released Jan. 28 after posting $13,600 bond.<\/p>\n
Morrow\u2019s passenger was also arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail.<\/p>\n
If convicted, punishment for a third-degree felony charge includes up to five years in prison, five years of probation and a fine of up to $5,000.<\/p>\n
Punishment for a first-degree misdemeanor includes up to one year in jail, one year of probation and a fine of up to $1,000.<\/p>\n
Second-degree misdemeanors are punishable by up to 60 days in jail, six months of probation and a fine of up to $500.<\/p>\n
An arraignment will be March 13 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.<\/p>\n
