ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 One Florida man is putting an invasive species to good use \u2014 by turning them into tacos.<\/p>\n
That man \u2014 Gray Davis \u2014 posted a recent video on TikTok<\/a> in which he reveals his recipe for \u201ciguana tacos,\u201d made out of the invasive green iguana.<\/p>\n In the video, Davis can be heard discussing the iguanas, which are notorious for falling out of trees when the temperatures drop too low<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of people will go out and collect them to help control the number and the population,\u201d Davis can be heard saying. \u201cBut they do have the nickname \u2018Chicken of the Trees\u2019 because they\u2019re absolutely delicious.\u201d<\/p>\n [BELOW: Florida woman gathers cold-stricken iguanas that fell from trees]<\/p>\n In the video, Davis can be seen picking up a frozen iguana from the ground. He says he then cleaned it and removed over 20 eggs from inside of it.<\/p>\n Afterward, he cooked the meat and eggs with several other ingredients, crafting several small tacos topped with pickled red onions, jalapeno and cilantro.<\/p>\n \u201cBon appetit,\u201d Davis says, biting into one of the tacos. \u201cMmm, mmm, mmm \u2014 now that right there is a Florida Man taco. If you can\u2019t beat \u2018em, eat \u2018em.”<\/p>\n Since it was originally posted, the video gone viral with over half a million likes. But it\u2019s not the only video of its kind.<\/p>\n
