ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 A+ Teacher Carwin Go is a real motivator. He has a passion for conservation and protecting the environment that makes his science lessons impactful.<\/p>\n
In Go\u2019s science class, his students stay busy putting in the work, which is a common thread in the Howard Middle School classroom.<\/p>\n
He operates with a simple philosophy.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne quote I\u2019ve always found important ever since I was in high school is that, in the end, we only protect what we love. We love only what we understand, and we understand only what we\u2019re taught,\u201d Go explained.<\/p>\n
Teaching is at the core of everything Go does.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo that\u2019s why I value education so importantly, because without being exposed to these natural phenomena that happened in the world, the kids don\u2019t know what to be interested in. They don\u2019t know why it\u2019s important, and they don\u2019t know what to protect when it comes to conservation and environmentalism. It\u2019s what\u2019s important.\u201d<\/p>\n
He says the learning environment is also important so that students can take it all in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey get to express their personalities, and it\u2019s really helpful for keeping them focused and keeping them on task,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Go doesn\u2019t just encourage his students to be lifelong learners \u2014 he sets an example.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do want to become a professor at one point. So, I\u2019m still trying to pursue my degrees in Marine Bio, getting a master\u2019s and a PhD.
