Randy Fine, an Atlantic Coast Republican, said he wants the Federal Communications Commission to severely fine Bad Bunny at a minimum. He posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepFine\/status\/2020925409043313023\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">translation<\/a> of the song featured in the show that included sexually graphic lyrics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Bad-Bunny-Super-Bowl-Culture.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-779071 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Bad-Bunny-Super-Bowl-Culture-640x427.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"  \/><\/a>Bad Bunny\u2019s Super Bowl halftime show sparks backlash from Randy Fine and Mar\u00eda Elvira Salazar, while Democrats celebrate massive viewership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou can\u2019t say the f-word on live TV. Had he said these lyrics \u2014 and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth in English on live TV \u2014 the broadcast would have been pulled down, and the fines would have been enormous. Puerto Ricans are Americans, and we all live by the same rules,\u201d Fine posted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe are sending (FCC Commissioner) Brendan Carr a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the NFL, NBC and \u2018Bad Bunny.\u2019 Lock them up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commenters noted that only one verse of the song \u201cSafaera,\u201d the one Fine spotlighted in his tweet, was included in the set, and it was heavily censored. The broadcast did not appear to include curse words that cannot be said on public broadcasts, but did include strong sexual content.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, Rep. Mar\u00eda Elvira Salazar, a Coral Gables Republican, took flak for criticizing the fact that the show was entirely in Spanish. However, that\u2019s also the language predominantly spoken in Florida\u2019s 27th Congressional District as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Super Bowl is the biggest game of America\u2019s most iconic sport. It\u2019s a national moment to bring the whole country together. And let\u2019s be honest \u2014 it should not be a multicultural fair,\u201d the Coral Gables Republican posted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIts audience is overwhelmingly English-speaking, and they deserve a halftime show they can understand and enjoy. To have a fully Spanish-language halftime show, with no subtitles, isn\u2019t inclusive. It\u2019s exclusive. In Miami, we listen to Spanish music, but we put America First. Unfortunately, today, instead of talking about the great contributions Hispanics make to our country \u2014 the legal ones and the undocumented \u2014 we are debating how poorly this event missed the mark. A very big opportunity lost!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Salazar frequently holds English- and Spanish-language portions of news conferences to reach both audiences. She also worked for years in Spanish-language media before her <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/379104-salazar-leads-shalala\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">2020 Election<\/a> to Congress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYour entire career was in Spanish media, communicating in Spanish, seeking votes in Spanish \u2026 but when Bad Bunny\u2019s Spanish appears in the Super Bowl, it\u2019s a threat to the nation,\u201d posted former Democratic opponent Annette Taddeo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Democrats in the delegation, though, were more celebratory of the Bad Bunny show. Many <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/778625-heres-brunch-a-pop-up-weekend-email-about-the-2026-legislative-session-2-8-26\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">predictions<\/a> made clear that the competition between the Puerto Rican performer and an alternative show produced by conservative Turning Point USA was the real competition they were tuning in for this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFor the Super Bowl, I predict that Americans will enjoy time with family and friends, that Bad Bunny will bring down the house, and that guacamole will rule the day,\u201d said Rep. Kathy Castor, a Tampa Democrat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMy Super Bowl prediction: Bad Bunny by 100M+ viewers over Kid Rock,\u201d posted Rep. Wasserman Schultz\u2019s ratings prognostication also won out. Kid Rock drew about 5 million concurrent viewers and 6.1 million total viewers to the Turning Point USA show on YouTube. Now, Rep. The legislation aims to streamline the Housing and Urban Development agency\u2019s approval and cut red tape to bring more units online.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ICE in Orlando?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Democrats representing Orlando in Congress don\u2019t want to see immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) opening a detention facility in the City Beautiful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reps. Maxwell Frost, an Orlando Democrat, and Darren Soto, a Kissimmee Democrat, sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons adamantly opposing any plans. For starters, neither thinks the record for detention centers in Florida has been good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/MAXWELL-FROST-Large.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-779099 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/MAXWELL-FROST-Large-640x427.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"  \/><\/a>Maxwell Frost and Darren Soto oppose a potential ICE detention facility in Orlando, citing past abuses and court-ordered releases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAbuse and injustices in Florida at the hands of ICE are well-documented,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/soto.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/soto.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2026.02.06-soto-frost-letter-to-dhs-and-ice-re-potential-orlando-facility.pdf\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">letter<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAt the Everglades Detention Center (\u2018Alligator Alcatraz\u2019), there have been numerous reports of pest infestations, poor nutrition, and packing of detainees into crowded cages. Recent reports have exposed ICE agents\u2019 efforts to skirt detention rules by indefinitely rebooking detainees after temporary transport from Orange County Jail to other detention sites.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The message was sent after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/news\/local\/ice-considering-orange-county-warehouse-new-detention-facility\/VKOR5DF7UVEHTONXDONQYFTYLQ\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">WFTV<\/a> spotted a warehouse in Orlando being scouted, and ICE confirmed the locale was under consideration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese actions have raised concerns among many, including multiple federal judges who have ordered the immediate removal of immigrants being held at the Orange County Jail due to this illegal ICE policy,\u201d Frost and Soto wrote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAdditionally, U.S. District Judge (Paul) Byron ordered the release of a local Cuban immigrant who was being detained but is not accused of a crime and has no order of deportation. Fundamentally, ICE has stripped immigrants living in our community of their rights and humanity. We will not stand for any furthering of this injustice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/p2publicaffairs.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-742042\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/P2-AD.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">High energy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The House Energy and Commerce Energy Subcommittee advanced legislation championed by Rep.
