{"id":151273,"date":"2026-02-11T06:31:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T06:31:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/151273\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T06:31:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T06:31:15","slug":"daimler-coaches-north-america-opens-new-west-jacksonville-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/151273\/","title":{"rendered":"Daimler Coaches North America opens new West Jacksonville headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h905345-p1\" class=\"permalinkable\">Ten months after groundbreaking on Daimler Coaches North America\u2019s new headquarters in West Jacksonville, the top executive for the company welcomed guests to a ceremonial opening of the facility Feb. 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p2\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cI cannot wait to move in with my team about two weeks from now,\u201d said Dietrich Muller, CEO and president of the German-based company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p3\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cIt really is a dream for us that we are now making our own footprint into the United States of America and the state of Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p4\" class=\"permalinkable\">Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, Council member Chris Miller, Jacksonville Transportation Authority CEO Nat Ford and other city and community leaders attended a ribbon-cutting at the facility at 7215 Jones Branch Blvd.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p5\" class=\"permalinkable\">In the two-story, 43,000-square-foot headquarters, the company will perform preinspection on Mercedes-Benz\u2019s Tourrider Premium coach vehicles and outfit them with equipment required for operation in the U.S., such as wheelchair lifts required by the Americans for Disabilities Act.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Daimler Coaches North America\u2019s new headquarters in West Jacksonville at 7215 Jones Branch Blvd.\" class=\"media-element file-default fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/20260210_Diamler_interior_t850.jpeg\" title=\"Daimler Coaches North America\u2019s new headquarters in West Jacksonville at 7215 Jones Branch Blvd.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Daimler Coaches North America\u2019s new headquarters in West Jacksonville at 7215 Jones Branch Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>Photo by Ric Anderson<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p6\" class=\"permalinkable\">The buses, manufactured in Turkey, will be shipped to the Port of Brunswick in Georgia and driven to Jacksonville for work in the facility at southwest Pritchard and Jones Branch roads, west of Interstate 295.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p7\" class=\"permalinkable\">Muller said the company invested more than $100 million in development of the U.S.-specific Tourrider and construction of the new facility. He said there were 50 people in the organization, a number the company expects to grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p8\" class=\"permalinkable\">Daimler Coaches North America hopes to sell 300 or more buses annually, Muller said. Most customers are bus operators who are hired by contractors who provide vacation tours, transportation for sports teams, airport shuttles and other services.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p9\" class=\"permalinkable\">Asked to quote a price for a Tourrider, Muller demurred.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p10\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cIt would be a major investment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dietrich Muller, CEO and president of Daimler Coaches North America.\" class=\"media-element file-default fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/20260210_Daimler_Muller_t850.jpeg\" title=\"Dietrich Muller, CEO and president of Daimler Coaches North America.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Dietrich Muller, CEO and president of Daimler Coaches North America.<\/p>\n<p>Photo by Ric Anderson<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p11\" class=\"permalinkable\">In remarks before the ribbon-cutting, Deegan said the headquarters were \u201ca tribute to collaboration.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p12\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cIt\u2019s what happens when a trusted global brand combines with one of America\u2019s hottest job markets in a city that is committed to supporting companies that really do create limitless opportunities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p13\" class=\"permalinkable\">Muller said the building was awaiting some finishing touches, including installing an exterior sign with the Mercedes-Benz logo, but was 99% complete.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p14\" class=\"permalinkable\">He said Daimler Coaches North America has rented facilities in the U.S., but made a \u201cvery important statement\u201d in building the headquarters facility.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p15\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cWe have come here to stay,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s a commitment. That\u2019s a big one for us.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h905345-p16\" class=\"permalinkable\">In May 2025, the city approved a permit for ARCO Design\/Build to construct the $15.47 million, 43,000-square-foot predelivery and service center.
