The Kevin Patullo era is officially over in Philadelphia as the Eagles<\/a>‘ assistant coach will take his talents to the AFC East. After being retained on the Eagles staff<\/a>, Mike Garafalo is reporting that Kevin Patullo will depart Philadelphia and join the Dolphins<\/a> as Miami’s pass-game coordinator.<\/p>\n A Davie, Florida native, Patullo will join new head coach Jeff Hafley<\/a>‘s staff in Miami, where he’ll work under newly promoted offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.<\/a><\/p>\n After a disastrous first season at the helm, the Philadelphia\u00a0Eagles fired Patullo as offensive coordinator<\/a> in a move that’s been expected for months. It wasn’t the disastrous 2023 meltdown, which saw the Birds lose 6-7 down the stretch, including a blowout loss to the\u00a0Buccaneers<\/a>\u00a0in the wild card round. Still, the frustrations were similar for an\u00a0Eagles<\/a>\u00a0offense that can’t avoid sputtering after any first-half success. Sunday perfectly encompassed every frustrating analysis of the Eagles’ offensive scheme. After a first quarter that saw Philadelphia amass over 100 total yards, the Eagles only managed 119 yards and 6 points in the second half, ending what should be a one-and-done experiment with Kevin Patullo as the team’s offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n In the Wild Card loss to San Francisco, \u00a0the Eagles’ offense had 19 first downs, but were 5-16 on third downs, 3-5 on fourth downs, for 307 total yards, 167 yards passing, 140 yards rushing, and 2-3 in the red zone while holding the football for 11 more minutes (35:39-24:21).<\/p>\n An offense that ranked in the top 10 in key offensive categories last season regressed to one of the league’s worst in those same categories.<\/p>\n
