ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Two separate violent encounters involving adults accused of attacking teens on e-bikes are under investigation in Central Florida, one in Ocoee<\/a> and another in Oviedo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Ocoee, police say a couple was arrested after an altercation with two teens on e-bikes Saturday evening near Douglas Edward Drive. Investigators said Todd and Angelique Norwood were driving when they came across the teens and yelled at them to slow down.<\/p>\n

After getting out of their vehicle, officers said Todd Norwood then got back into his vehicle and was caught on video accelerating toward one of the teens, hitting the rider on the e-bike.<\/p>\n

Graig and Debbie Smith, who live nearby, said they were shocked to learn what happened so close to home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s crazy,\u201d Graig Smith said.<\/p>\n

Police said the teen was not seriously hurt.<\/p>\n

Residents said e-bikes have become increasingly common in the area, especially among students. \u201cWe always watch out for the kids when we\u2019re driving through,\u201d Debbie Smith said. \u201cThere are a lot of e-bikes, and that\u2019s okay, there are a lot of kids in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a separate incident, Oviedo police said a University of Central Florida professor was arrested last week after an altercation with a teen near Jackson Heights Middle School.<\/p>\n

Investigators said 41-year-old Shuo Pang confronted a child he believed was riding an e-bike too fast on a sidewalk near the Oviedo Aquatic Center. According to the report, Pang followed the teen, grabbed his arm, and \u201csmacked the helmet off his head.\u201d<\/p>\n

UCF officials confirmed Pang was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The school district said he has been trespassed from Jackson Heights Middle School.<\/p>\n

Neighbors in Ocoee told News 6 they\u2019re grateful the teen involved in the weekend incident wasn\u2019t seriously injured and hope to never see something like it again.<\/p>\n
