TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida State Parks is offering free admission from Friday, Feb. 13 to Monday, Feb. 16 in honor of George Washington\u2019s birthday and America\u2019s 250th, according to a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) press release.<\/p>\n
The department is encouraging people to \u201cexplore the places where history unfolded,\u201d per the release.<\/p>\n
The free admission is for day-use only and excludes the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park and Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park.<\/p>\n

According to DEP website<\/a>, Florida has 175 state parks that span across more than 815,000 acres. The parks have numerous activities for outdoor recreation and also forts and frontier settlements that celebrate Florida\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n DEP Secretary Alexis A.
