Video caught a man’s screams for help after police said he tried to rob a landscaping van in Hialeah but ended up getting locked inside.<\/p>\n
Dean Young, 26, faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief after the incident on Wednesday in a Hialeah neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The Ring surveillance video shows him getting out of his car, crossing the street and getting inside the truck. <\/p>\n
The owner of the van locked the vehicle when he started landscaping. That’s when Young began screaming and kicking the van doors for help because he was locked inside.<\/p>\n
\u201cHelp me! I\u2019m inside,” Young is heard screaming.<\/p>\n
Homeowner Nercy Toledo said Young was banging on the door for a while, saying he couldn’t breathe.<\/p>\n
The surveillance captured officers getting Young out of the van. According to an arrest form, the landscapers did not let Young out of the van until police arrived<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were machetes inside the truck, and he could\u2019ve just come out and hurt anybody, so they left him in there,” Toledo said.<\/p>\n
Young told police that he was handing out business cards when a dog chased him. He got scared and ran into the truck for safety. But the video showed a different story.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s funny. It\u2019s a dumb crook, I guess now he\u2019s watching the news and inside the jail,” Toledo said.:<\/p>\n
Young is currently being held in jail. He was free on bail in a previous case.
