TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Make the most of the next couple of days with some of the nicest weather of the week. But keep an eye on Sunday when showers and storms move in. Right now, severe weather is not likely, but we\u2019re monitoring conditions to see how the day unfolds. We do know that much-needed rain is on the way this weekend. <\/p>\n
Perfect weather to end the week<\/p>\n
Dry air is moving in from the north, creating comfortable conditions and clear skies. It\u2019s the kind of weather that makes you want to spend time outside. <\/p>\n
Today and Friday will be spectacular with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s, with overnight lows in the 40s. This is ideal weather to get outside and tackle those outdoor tasks you\u2019ve been putting off. <\/p>\n
Whether it\u2019s running errands, walking the dog, or enjoying some time in the sunshine, the next two days are your window to make the most of it.<\/p>\n
Tracking a chance for storms on Sunday<\/p>\n
The pleasant stretch comes to an end Sunday when a cold front moves through the region. A cold front will pass through the southeast on Sunday, which will bring a decent rainfall. Totals likely at least 0.5\u2033 to 1.0\u2033. Some higher totals are possible. Expect showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and into Sunday night. Some areas could see heavier downpours as well.<\/p>\n
Severe weather risk: <\/p>\n
Right now, severe weather is not likely on Sunday. <\/p>\n
Here\u2019s why: if we stay mostly cloudy and rainy throughout the morning, the risk for organized, stronger storms stays low because the atmosphere will struggle to destabilize. <\/p>\n
However, we\u2019re watching one key factor \u2014 if we break into sunshine at all during your Sunday, that will increase instability in the atmosphere, which would support stronger storms.<\/p>\n
