The outfielder <a href=\"http:\/\/ftw.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2023\/10\/11\/nick-castellanos-son-reaction-homer-phillies-braves-mlb-playoffs\/80849135007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who became a fan favorite<\/a> and then fell out of favor was released on Thursday after four seasons with the team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He handwrote a four-page letter that he posted on Instagram, including a page-and-a-half on something he called the &#8220;Miami Incident.&#8221; That was something that happened in Miami last summer that <a href=\"http:\/\/ftw.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2025\/06\/17\/what-did-nick-castellanos-say-to-phillies-manager-to-get-benched\/84248735007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">led to Castellanos being benched<\/a> after an &#8220;inappropriate&#8221; comment he made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">What was it? He was taken out of a &#8220;a close ball game in front of my friends and family.&#8221; He then brought a beer into the dugout (he didn&#8217;t take a sip of it) and apparently had this to say to manager Rob Thomson: &#8220;[I] let him know that too much slack in some areas and to [sic] tight of restrictions in others are not conducive to us winning.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Wow.
