FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 The City of Fort Pierce<\/a> and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency<\/a> are inviting residents and business owners to help shape the future of the city\u2019s 2nd Street corridor<\/a> during a public redevelopment workshop<\/a> scheduled for Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The workshop will focus on the future of 2nd Street between Orange Avenue and Marina Way and is designed to gather community input that will help guide long-term redevelopment and planning efforts in the area.<\/p>\n

City officials say the goal is to improve the area’s overall safety, walkability, and infrastructure, while also helping attract new businesses, increase foot traffic, and better connect nearby neighborhoods, visitors, and local shops.<\/p>\n

The 2nd Street Redevelopment Public Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the River Walk Center<\/a>, located at 600 N. Indian River Drive.<\/p>\n

The redevelopment agency says this comes after interviews with community stakeholders, EXP US Services, the consultant for the 2nd Street Improvements Project. Officials have prepared four design concepts to share with attendees. These concepts explore potential improvements to safety, accessibility, and overall corridor functionality.<\/p>\n

Officials say the meeting will be interactive and give participants the opportunity to share ideas and feedback directly with planners and redevelopment staff. Community input gathered at the workshop will be used to help guide future design concepts, improvements, and investment priorities along the corridor.<\/p>\n

City leaders say the workshop is part of a broader series of public meetings taking place throughout February aimed at shaping redevelopment and master planning efforts in key areas across Fort Pierce.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a workshop next week on the old St. Anastasia site, and later this month, a meeting on the future of the Lincoln Park District at the Lincoln Park Community Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n
