The move underscores what many of us already know: Miami is no longer just a nightlife capital or a flashy dining destination, but a city influential enough to attract nationally beloved, media-minted brands with devoted followings.

Fans expect 30 delicious doughnut flavors, including flavors that made it popular

While the menu features the original “Bacon Maple Bar,” the yeast-raised bar that first put the shop on the map all the back in 2003, there are more than 30 other options in the doughnut rotation. You will find the signature “Voodoo Doll,” a raspberry-filled person-shaped doughnut stabbed with a pretzel stake, alongside the “Memphis Mafia” and the “Grape Ape.” The shop also maintains a large selection of vegan options, offering plant-based versions of many of its most popular doughnuts.

The space itself is just as quirky as its doughnuts. The pink shops frequently host actual wedding ceremonies, and the Wynwood location is expected to continue that tradition.

Fans voted on the “Sublime Key Lime” flavor for the Miami opening, which will be available until March 31

An Exclusive Doughnut Flavor for Miami

To mark the Miami debut, the kitchen is launching a flavor you won’t find at their other locations. The “Sublime Key Lime” was selected by fans through an online vote and will be available as a Wynwood exclusive through March 31. This doughnut features a dip in key lime frosting, dollops of key lime fluff, and a sprinkle of crushed golden graham cracker crumbles.

A portion of the proceeds from every “Sublime Key Lime” doughnut sold will benefit NAMI Miami-Dade, the National Alliance of Mental Illness’ Miami chapter, a local organization focused on mental health support. On opening day specifically, the brand is donating 20 percent of all sales to the nonprofit. Susan Holtzman, the president and CEO of NAMI Miami-Dade, noted that the partnership is a natural fit for the community. “Voodoo Doughnut’s bold approach matches our own in providing education, support, and advocacy for people living with mental health conditions,” Holtzman says in a statement.

Opening Day and Giveaways

On February 19, the festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. If the brand’s previous openings in cities like Austin or Denver are any indication, guests should expect a line that wraps around the block. To reward the early birds, the shop is offering a “Fate & Fortune” doughnut to the first 200 guests in line. Ten of these will contain a special pink filling, which serves as a golden ticket for free doughnuts for an entire year.

Additionally, the first 26 customers to make a purchase will receive a gift bag containing merchandise and local items valued at approximately $143. This specific number celebrates the Wynwood location as the 26th shop in the United States. Plus, it will stay open late for Wynwood crowds, opening daily from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m., serving both morning commuters and late-night patrons exiting nearby bars.

Voodoo Doughnut. 2401 NW Second Ave., Miami; voodoodoughnut.com.
