FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2014 A Fort Lauderdale woman is facing two felony charges after police said she pulled a gun on another driver during a road rage incident in the city on Wednesday, while claiming to be a police officer.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the incident began on Fort Lauderdale Beach.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report, the victim told officers that he was about to turn left from State Road A1A onto Sunrise Boulevard when a woman later identified as Shaley Joanne Alvarez, 35, cut him off.<\/p>\n
Police said as the two drove side-by-side, Alvarez pointed a handgun out the window and said, \u201cDo you know that I am a cop? Pull over!\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities said the man pulled over near the Galleria mall and called 911, \u201cbecause he believed a traffic stop was being conducted and he was in fear for his life.”<\/p>\n
Police arrived and said that Alvarez admitted to having a gun but said she did not point it at the man.<\/p>\n
Officers arrested Alvarez on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, impersonating a law enforcement officer in the commission of a felony and improper exhibition of a firearm.<\/p>\n
Court records show she was given a $16,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim or possess any guns. <\/p>\n
Additional records show that since 2010, she\u2019s received 17 traffic tickets in Broward County and one in Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n
Alvarez no longer appeared in Broward jail records as of Friday. <\/p>\n
