TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Night to Shine returned to Tallahassee Friday night, giving people of all ages with disabilities a night to celebrate that\u2019s all about them. <\/p>\n
From llamas to karaoke, to dancing and sensory rooms, there was a little bit of something for everyone at the highly anticipated event. <\/p>\n
Torey Roberts attended Friday\u2019s festivities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels amazing to come to Night to Shine prom, this is my 6th year. So I\u2019m very excited to come here,\u201d Roberts said. <\/p>\n
Guests were made to feel special before they even walked through the doors, with a red carpet rolled out and a cheering crowd ready to welcome them. <\/p>\n
Many attendees said their favorite part of the evening was dancing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe dancing just really gives us a chance to cut loose for once,\u201d one attendee said.<\/p>\n

But beyond the music and the fun, they say it\u2019s about something even bigger, making every guest feel seen, valued and celebrated without focusing on what makes them different. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really special, it shows that people out there really care about us,\u201d attendee Morgan Smith said. <\/p>\n
Some guests spent the night on the dance floor or singing their favorite songs at karaoke, while others took a break in quiet rooms filled with sensory toys. <\/p>\n
There were 700 guests in attendance on Friday night, but a total of 1,900 people came out to support. Organizers say they will start to plan next year\u2019s Night to Shine in just a few weeks. <\/p>\n
