JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Night to Shine returned to Jacksonville on Friday evening, marking an unforgettable celebration for people with special needs. <\/p>\n
The event is designed to honor and uplift guests with a memorable experience.<\/p>\n
The annual event, which is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, features a red carpet entrance, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest receives a crown or a tiara.<\/p>\n
The effort extends far beyond Jacksonville. Night to Shine is hosted by churches around the globe. Hundreds of events were held across the U.S. Friday night, with additional celebrations in Australia, the U.K., Germany, and more.<\/p>\n
One participant shared with News4JAX how their partner for the evening has been preparing for the event. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s been practicing his dance moves. At work. At home. He\u2019s been telling me how excited he\u2019s been. Such a fun night to celebrate those who don\u2019t get a chance all the time,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n
Another attendee said this was their 4th year attending the event, and looked forward to the karaoke and chance to ride in a limo. <\/p>\n
Another repeat guest said, \u201cThis is like my 5th time at Night to Shine. So far it\u2019s pretty awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n
Others expressed heartfelt sentiments: \u201cI just love it,\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s amazing to be able to see these beautiful people and know and celebrate them in Jesus\u2019 name.\u201d<\/p>\n
Volunteers also shared their joy, with one saying, \u201cI love the people. I just love their hearts. And I want them to have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another added, \u201cIt is a joy to get to see all of them shine through the night and be here to celebrate.\u201d<\/p>\n
A member of the glam squad said, \u201cI expect to see just a lot of excitement and being a part of the glam squad is really exciting because I\u2019m going to get to help people see their natural beauty.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s super rewarding to see the joy on everyone\u2019s faces and just getting to be a part and remind them they\u2019re kings and queens in God\u2019s eyes,\u201d another volunteer said.<\/p>\n
