On Oct 3rd, 2024 at 2:11 am, a 41 year old African named Troy Dorsey was arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff\u2019s Office (St. Pete, FL). Despite being in serious need of medical attention, Troy was not brought to the hospital. He was taken directly to jail. Despite vomiting and other signs of sickness, Pinellas County Sheriffs denied Troy medical attention. Despite having a seizure, sheriffs still denied him medical attention. By 7:27 am, Troy was pronounced dead. Under the system of U.S. colonialism, African\/black people are murdered by the police every day. African people are denied political power and self-determination.<\/p>\n
We call on white people to unite with the demands of the Justice for Troy Dorsey Campaign:
1. Reparations to Christina Dorsey, mother of Troy Dorsey. To be paid by the Pinellas County Sheriff\u2019s Dept.
2. Black Community Control of the Police. African people must have the power to hire, fire and discipline the cops in the Black community.
3. End colonial violence against African people in jails and prisons.
4. Pinellas County Sheriff \u201ckilla\u201d Bob Gualtieri must resign immediately.
5. Prosecute all jail personnel involved in the death of Troy Dorsey<\/p>\n
