67th Annual Queen of Hearts Ball<\/p>\n

The Queen of Hearts Ball was founded 67 years ago to honor women of exemplary service and volunteerism in Pinellas County and to raise money for two local charities. Each year organizations nominate women who stand out for their dedication and commitment to service. Six are selected as Princesses to the Queen\u2019s Royal Court. The Queen is selected from a past court.<\/p>\n

Hosted by The Queen\u2019s Court, Inc., the 67th annual Queen of Hearts Ball takes place Saturday, Feb. 21 at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club from 6 until 10 p.m.\u00a0 This year\u2019s charitable recipients are the Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg (Teen Poetry Fellowship & Workshop Program) and Seniors in Service (60+ Classroom Grandparents Program in Pinellas County).<\/p>\n

The black-tie event will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction, a cash bar and valet service.<\/p>\n

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is located at 11 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n

Join the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art docent team<\/p>\n

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is accepting application for its 2026 Docent Class.<\/p>\n

Docents engage visitors through conversations about modern and contemporary arts. The training program prepares volunteers to lead tours, support collections research and serve as ambassadors for the Museum\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

The Docent Class meets every Friday from Feb. 20 through May 22. The class includes in-depth surveys of modern art history, an introduction to the museum\u2019s collections and training in presentation and public speaking.<\/p>\n

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is located at 600 E. Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs.<\/p>\n

James B. Sanderlin Rain Garden Workday<\/p>\n

Keep Pinellas Beautiful and the James B. Sanderlin Family Center are hosting a Rain Garden Workday, Saturday Feb. 28 from 9 until 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

The Sanderlin Rain Garden was transformed from a high-maintenance lawn into one of Pinellas County\u2019s longest native demonstration gardens, earning two honors in 2025: Best Garden in Transformation from the City of St. Petersburg and Best Community Landscape from the Tampa Bay WaterWise Program.<\/p>\n

Volunteers are needed to help mulch, remove invasive species, plant, prune and celebrate the launch of the center\u2019s new seed library.<\/p>\n

Participants should wear closed toe shoes, sun protection and protective clothing, such as long pants and sleeves. Gardening supplies and a refill water station will be provided.<\/p>\n

The James B. Sanderlin Family Center is located at 2335 22nd Avenue S., St. Petersburg. Free parking is available on site.<\/p>\n

Volunteer at Beer Breakfast 2026<\/p>\n

Beer Breakfast is a downtown St. Petersburg tradition held during Grand Prix weekend, bringing together hundreds of enthusiastic, generous attendees for a morning of revelry, fellowship and community impact.<\/p>\n

Since 2008, this once-a-year event has raised money for local charities. Beer Breakfast 2026 will be held Saturday, Feb. 28 at Mandarin Hide, 231 Central Ave., St. Petersburg from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Hero To A Child, founded in 1989 to empower, uplift and support children and young adults impacted by abuse and neglect to realize a better future.<\/p>\n

The organization is seeking high-energy volunteers, to assist with setup before the event and breakdown after, work the welcome table, direct guests throughout the event, sell T-shirts and more.<\/p>\n

Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:15 a.m. for setup and orientation. Breakdown and wrap-up will last until approximately 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

Volunteer with Hope Villages of America<\/p>\n

Hope Villages of America has been supporting neighbors facing hunger, homelessness and domestic violence for over 50 years. Staff, volunteers and partnering faith congregations join together to provide services within Pinellas County.<\/p>\n

The organization welcomes individuals, students, families and groups who are willing to give back and donate their time. Volunteer opportunities include food distribution services, administrative and office assistance, helping with children\u2019s activities, gardening and landscaping and general maintenance and beautification projects.<\/p>\n
