PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) arrested a man for burglary in under 20 minutes with the assistance of their K9 Unit.<\/p>\n
The department stated that just after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, several PSLPD units were deployed to the 200 block of SE Village Drive.<\/p>\n
PSLPD says the reporting party returned home from work to find an unknown male, later identified as Arkansas-native Jarred Seymour, in the home. The homeowner confronted Seymour, who convinced him it was in his best interest to leave, per police. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s when the gentleman, the intruder, comes out from the bedroom and I ask him, I said what are you doing? And he says I live here,” said homeowner Linda Snow. “I said, no I live here. He says I live here and I said no I need for you to leave.\u201d<\/p>\n
The homeowner immediately called 911 and provided a description, direction of travel, and video surveillance of Seymour on the property.<\/p>\n
That’s when road patrol, drone operators, and K9 Officer Gibbons and his \u2018maligator\u2019 K9 Ronin were called in.<\/p>\n
With the descriptive information and closing the gap with very little time delay, K9 Ronin was hot on the suspect’s track, locating him just 20 minutes after his paws were on the ground.<\/p>\n
Seymour was arrested and transported to St. Lucie County Jail for counts of burglary.<\/p>\n
