BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech dropped to 17-9 and 6-7 in conference play after Florida State\u2019s second-half offensive barrage led to a 92-69 loss inside Cassell Coliseum.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Hokies could not recover from a 13-0 run by FSU in the second half, led by Martin Somerville, who ended with 23 points on 82% shooting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ben Hammond<\/a> and Tobi Lawal<\/a> kept Tech within striking distance of the lead for most of the second half, scoring 16 each, but the Seminoles\u2019 three-point attack and pressure defense halted any momentum the Hokies gained.\u00a0<\/p>\n

GAME NOTES
\u2022 The starters for Virginia Tech were Neoklis Avdalas<\/a>, Ben Hammond<\/a>, Jailen Bedford<\/a>, Tobi Lawal<\/a> and Amani Hansberry<\/a> for the fifth straight game.
\u2022 Ben Hammond<\/a> was on point from beyond the arc, hitting four threes in as many attempts.
\u2022 Every starter hit double figures: Hammond (16), Lawal (16), Bedford (13), Avdalas (10) and Hansberry (10).
\u2022 Avdalas’ three three-pointers were the most since Virginia on New Year’s Eve<\/p>\n
